Puno awaits...

I arrived to Puno on Sunday after a very smooth trip down from Boston. Like always it is "colder this year than usual" (everyone will get used to comments about the weather!) and Puno continues to grow and change. There are new restaurants, new places to hang out, and tourism is starting to increase again after the slump following the floods in the Cuzco valley and surrounding areas earlier this year. The next two weeks for me (pre-students!) will be spent finalizing logistics in Pucará, working on a museum project we are planning at the Pukara Museum, and working to complete an external review of the anthropology department at the local university (UNAP), which I began with a committee of colleagues last May. So, busy busy. How about everyone else???
