Today we spent the afternoon at
Fundo Chincheros, a restored hacienda from the 1550s located just outside of Puno. They hosted us for a typical Puneño lunch (quinoa soap, alpaca stew, and other goodies), taught us about llamas, alpacas and vicuña (see photo of Benito), and then we took a hike up to a Formative Period archaeological site overlooking Lake Titicaca.

The weather was perfect, food was fantastic, and we had the opportunity to see the "behind the scenes" of a working dairy and wool farm. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!
